Natalia Triantafyllou's profile

Alternative Music Conservatory

This project was prepared in 2014 at the end of graduation and published in Revista AUP !"  a magazine that dynamically demonstrates projects on optics of Urbanism, Architecture and Landscape in Minas Gerais, a big central region of Brazil.
The Project arose out of enthusiasm for the areas of music, since I grew up in a family environment surrounded by musicians. When participating in voluntary social projects with children in one of the poorest areas of the city, had the dream of developing education through musical art.
I also believe that the way in which it relates to the urban environment makes a big difference in the vision of the city and harmony with the whole, so the importance of designing not only the school, but modifying its surroundings to make it attractive: through landscaping , sports like skateboarding, and outdoor events.
The design of the building was made on the basis of the Deconstructivist Architecture by Daniel Libeskind, and the traces of the building's design inspired by the cubist work "Man with a guitar"(1911) by Georges Braque. The project has many openings for the entry of light and natural ventilation of a Vernacular Architecture, in the search for sustainability. The colors of the walls were chosen according to the study of color psychology and Chakras.
